Eric Casey joined Port Houston in September 2025 as Chief Operating Officer, leading terminal operations, facilities, and enterprise process improvement. He brings more than 25 years of experience driving operational excellence across ports, logistics, and global organizations.

Casey served as CEO of the Port of Wilmington, Delaware, where he delivered a financial turnaround, negotiated long-term contracts, and expanded the port’s cargo portfolio. He also held senior roles at Cold Summit, Virginia International Terminals, and Maersk Line, where he led operations, business development, and Lean Six Sigma initiatives. His career highlights include overseeing multi-site terminal operations, implementing new terminal operating systems, and spearheading process improvement programs that produced multimillion-dollar savings.

Retiring as a Colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, Casey spent 26 years in special operations and tactical aviation, commanding units and leading combat missions across multiple continents. He has also served in leadership roles with the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce and the Philadelphia Maritime Trade Association. Casey holds an MBA from the Mason School of Business at the College of William & Mary, a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from The Ohio State University, and Lean and Six Sigma Master Black Belt certifications.  He is married to the former Maryann Schreck and has three children.
