We the Veterans & Military Families' Statement on Continued Acts of Political Violence

As an organization dedicated to empowering veterans and military families to build a stronger America, we unequivocally condemn political violence.  Full stop.  Those who have served in uniform understand that we must remain committed to engaging differing viewpoints through dialogue and constitutional processes – not violence.  Today’s events at Utah Valley University underscore the need to invest in effective prevention.  As many of us have witnessed while serving abroad, violence begets violence.  Unfortunately, this is not the first time we have been compelled to make such an appeal.  We all have a role to play in lowering the temperature in today’s political discourse and reminding ourselves – and our fellow countrymen and women – that we have more in common than not.
